EU executive asked to reply by Sept. 15 as part of probe into sustainability law

The ongoing investigation cites the commission’s failure to conduct a required impact assessment, inadequate public consultation, and the absence of a climate consistency assessment as key reasons for the probe.The head of the EU's administrative watchdog, Teresa Anjinho, this week asked the European Commission to clarify why it bypassed key procedural steps in a legislative package aimed at simplifying sustainability rules for companies (see here)....
